Telkari — filigree — is the craft Midyat is known for. Fine silver wire is drawn, twisted and soldered into open lacework entirely by hand, a technique carried through Mesopotamian workshops for well over a thousand years. There is no mould and no casting: every curve is placed by the silversmith.

This collection gathers our filigree work in 925 sterling silver and 24K gold plate — Mesopotamian sun pendants, tulip and leaf motif bracelets, wheat-ear drop earrings, and matching sets. Because each piece is woven individually, no two come out exactly alike.

Filigree has far more surface area than solid silver, so it reacts faster to skin oils and air. Keep it away from perfume, chlorine and cosmetics, wipe with a dry soft cloth after wearing, and store it in the pouch provided. Avoid dip-style polishing liquids, which can weaken the fine soldered joints.
